Family- The Center of Influence

I travelled many miles to visit my mom and the local church at Cordova, Cebu where the famous ten thousand roses attraction is located. It was a very relaxing and recharging trip that made me so refreshed beyond words!
The speaker of the hour was really energetic as He slowly but powerfully discussed the topic " Family- The Center of Influence".

Home is where the heart is... as one writer quotes but it is also in the home that we take off our "mask" and we are our ugliest to each other. It often causes strain and broken relationship if not controlled.

Modern developments and technology contribute a large percentage of the families who are torn  and broken apart. I remember the time when television was first introduced in our home. We hardly had time to focus on the work assigned because our mind was drawn to the coming soap opera shows but when the cellphones were invented, things got so crazy, now that I am a mother.

The work of the parents is getting heavier and taxing as they compete with the influence of media and internet. Religion contributes a bigger part in nurturing and guiding our kids but let us not forget the environment and culture inside every home contribute the largest.

Every family must be a center of influence that will shine in the community and in the society as well. That is a great task for everyone in the family to work on unceasingly.
